Welcome to Inner Freedom.

Inner Freedom is a podcast and blog that will bring you audio and video (soon) of Dharma discussions by Pema Duddul and Jamyang Tenphel. Jamyang and Pema are practitioners within Tibetan Buddhism. They both hold the vows of a Tantrica or Ngakpa. They have been encouraged to teach by a number of Tibetan Lamas. Although they practice mainly within the Dudjom lineage of the Nyingma school they also have very strong ties to the Drukpa Kagyu, notably the lineage of the great Togden Shakya Shri. Both Jamyang and Pema have received teachings from Lamas of all four schools of Tibetan Buddhism.

Jamyang Tenphel’s Tsawai Lama (Heart Teacher) is Togden Amtrin, a highly realised yogi of the Khampagar Drukpa. Sadly Togden Amtrin passed away in July of 2005, however Jamyang feels his influence and presence on a daily basis. Another of Jamyang's main Lama's is Drala Terton, who is widely unknown, but a great force in Jamyang's life. In daily life Jamyang’s main teacher is also his illness (post-viral fatigue syndrome) which has forced him to abandon all hope for comfort and ease and embrace spontaneity and change.

Pema Duddul’s Tsawai Lama is Dudjom Lingpa. Dudjom Lingpa was a Tibetan visionary and saint from the turn of the last century. Pema considers all incarnations of Dujom Lingpa to be his Lamas, principally Kyabje Dudjom Rinpoche, Jigdral Yeshe Dorje and Kyabje Dudjom Tenzin Yeshe Dorje Rinpoche of Bhutan. Pema has also benefited greatly from the teachings of a number of Palyul lamas. In life Pema’s main teacher is his traumatic childhood which has taught him the importance of facing fear and the joys associated with being an outcast.

Both Jamyang and Pema consider themselves very fortunate to have the following Lamas as teachers: Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche, Ngakpa Karma Lhundup Rinpoche, and Khandro Thrinley Chodon.

In particular Ngakpa Karma Lhundup Rinpoche and Khandro Thrinley Chodon have been immensely kind to Pema and Jamyang for which they both feel immense gratitude. One of the main goals of this podcast is to connect others to the great Lamas of the Vajrayana and Dzogchen traditions.
